⭐️ Review
★★★½
This book was longlisted for the 2026 Booker Prize, which is how it found its place in my library holds. Where it shines most is in the structure of the prose, which is fragmented and reflects David's unravelling mind. Unfortunately, I had a hard time connecting with David as a character (he's a rich old guy whose priorities in life have been a bit shit - tale as old as time) and as a result this book didn't quite hit for me. Still, it's very well written and worth a read, imo.
